Since 1989, the BTC has been active in addressing issues involving the
use of technology in business, education, government and public service,
through partnerships involving West Chester University, its College of
Business and Public Affairs, the Ben Franklin Technology Partnership of
Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education,
and numerous governmental agencies and private businesses.
Since its inception, this consortium has committed over $40 million in
staff, equipment and capital to establish a Center where participants
can: access personnel knowledgeable in wide area digital networks and
broadband technologies; gain technical experience and knowledge to develop
strategic products; acquire information about competing solutions before
acquisition; mutually assist each other in solving problems inherent with
the implementation of digital networks and broadband technologies; bring
customers and staff for training or product demonstrations; perform alpha
or beta testing; optimize configurations and environments prior to implementation.
