Tom Pavelchek has worked at
the BTC since 1990, and has a MS in Computer Science degree. As the Director
of Technology, Tom oversees the technical operations of the Center. He also
does the design, monitoring, troubleshooting and technical oversight for
SSHEnet, the ATM network which connects the Universities of the State System
of Higher Education in Pennsylvania. In this capacity, Tom works with network
analysis, management and monitoring software and systems such as the Radcom
PrismLite, Niksun NetVCR, MRTG and CiscoWorks. He also works with security
tools such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Tom also did the
design, implementation and initial operation and management
of Chesconet, the network that provides Internet service and interconnects
non-profit organizations in Chester County, PA.
